Djedovic: "We're practicing hard and looking forward to playing our first game"
Nihad Djedovic has spoken on the start of the preseason following today’s practice and two days before the team’s first friendly game against Melilla Ciudad del Deporte, scheduled for Sunday at 8:00 p.m. as part of the III Javier Imbroda Memorial in the autonomous city.
Reflecting on these first two weeks of training, Djedovic said, “We’re really practicing very hard. We’re now in our second week without the national team players, which makes it a little more challenging, but we have a good training plan. We’re following the coach’s lead, and we’re very excited to finally play a game this weekend.”
There have been many changes with the arrival of a new coach, new teammates, and the young players helping out in practice—changes that Djedovic views as normal: “Changes are changes, and there’s always a sense of motivation when there’s a change. There’s a breath of fresh air; the players are happy to be here, and from what I’ve seen these past few days, they’re all good people. We’re training very hard, following the coach’s instructions, and getting ready for our first games.”
And on Sunday, the team is eagerly awaiting its first preseason game against Melilla Ciudad del Deporte: “Training is one thing; the game is another. We all want to play games, and we’re happy they’re finally starting. We’re in good shape, injury-free—which is the most important thing—and hopefully, as they say, we can keep it up,” concluded the Bosnian small forward.
Unicaja will play its first preseason game next Sunday at 8:00 p.m. against Melilla Ciudad del Deporte at the Javier Imbroda Arena, and it will be broadcast live on 101 TV.
