“Nuestra provincia juega” renews its commitment to the municipalities of Málaga

The “Nuestra provincia juega” campaign marks its sixth edition with the project now firmly established, featuring the return of the 12 towns that participated in the previous season. On this occasion, the initiative—which continues to strengthen ties between Unicaja Baloncesto and the province of Málaga—was presented at Finca El Portón in Alhaurín de la Torre, attended by the club’s president, Antonio Jesús López Nieto, along with the mayors and council members responsible for sports from the participating municipalities.

“Nuestra Provincia Juega” is entering a new season as a well-established program and is now in its sixth year, with the 12 municipalities that participated in the campaign last season renewing their commitment. The project was unveiled this Thursday at Finca El Portón in Alhaurín de la Torre, during an event that brought together representatives from the participating towns and Unicaja Baloncesto to highlight an initiative that continues to strengthen the ties between the club and the province of Málaga.

There, the president of Unicaja Baloncesto, Antonio Jesús López Nieto, presented a gift bearing the name of each town to the mayors and sports councilors of the participating municipalities, who, once again this year, have demonstrated their commitment to and enthusiasm for the project and their support for the club.

The municipalities participating in this sixth edition are Alhaurín de la Torre, Benalmádena, Benahavís, Estepona, Marbella, Mijas, Nerja, Pizarra, Rincón de la Victoria, Torremolinos, Torrox, and Vélez-Málaga. This maintains the group of towns that participated in the campaign last year, consolidating an initiative that has progressively expanded its reach since its launch and is now well established among the towns of the province.

“Nuestra Provincia Juega” aims to bring Unicaja closer to the municipalities of Málaga and turn the Martín Carpena into a meeting place between the club and the entire province. Throughout the season, each town has a dedicated game during which its residents can enjoy the match live and participate in various promotional activities. The outdoor Fan Zone, games and activities for fans, the town’s presence on the video scoreboard and led displays, interviews with municipal representatives, food tastings, contests, and the distribution of promotional materials are just some of the initiatives that turn each game day into a true celebration.

Since its inception, the initiative has also served to strengthen the sense of belonging to Unicaja beyond the city of Málaga, fostering an increasingly close relationship between the Club and the participating municipalities. The project has allowed basketball to become a vehicle for raising the profile of these towns, sharing their attractions with fans, and, at the same time, making their residents feel part of the Unicaja family. Six editions later, “Nuestra Provincia Juega” continues to build on a shared vision: that the entire province plays as a single team alongside Unicaja.
